Wd My Passport For Mac Not Showing Up

Posted on  by

Welcome to the TH Community, @RanchoBurger! It looks like your WD My Passport has 2 unallocated partitions, meaning that these capacity are not accessible or used, you can basically make that space available by formatting the volumes. As to why you are unable to access those files on the 259.79 GB partition is most probably because you have somehow lost the drive letter & path. Now your WD My Passport Drive will show up. Decide what you would like to use your My Passport drive for on your Mac. And then set it up that way. And I have put your mind at rest that not only can you use WD My Passport on a Mac, it works really well on a Mac. Don’t be shy I invite you to check out my other articles here on the site.

I have a WD 2TB My Passport external drive. I used it on my Macbook a month ago and it worked fine. I tried to use it again today but it does not show in my Devices on Finder anymore.

What I observed:

The light is on and it is blinking. It is vibrating very lightly, like it always does. There is no unusual noise.

What I have done so far:

I plugged it on another Macbook, but it did not show there either.

I tried using a different usb cable and it still did not show in my Finder.

What could possibly be the problem? How do I know if my files are still there? How can I troubleshoot? Where can I have it repaired?

Is this a good question? Microsoft office 2011 for mac installer free download. Keepass.

External Disk box is already checked, unfortunately. I failed to mention in my report that I tried plugging another external drive and that showed up in Finder.
